Opera could offer an apt reporitory for the .deb, much like skype is doing it. Those inclined to run Opera could then well do so very easily. And they could reuse Debian's library, too. I could also see an Opera install script to be shipped as a Debian package ... but I am not in favour of such. What would be good is to have some contact with the upstream developers. There are Debianers everywhere, certainly also in the vicinity of the Opera house. The web of trust gave me Mr Johan Herland as the only member of strong set and I took the freedom to place him on the CC line. Johan, do you see Opera to be near to releasing a version of your browser in your own apt repository that does its best to avoid being statically linked? Is there something you would like Debian to do for you before something like that would seam reasonable to you? Best regards Steffen
