That's crazy. <addsmode> Originaly, I wrote svn-buildpackage (former svn-devscripts) for a similar purpose - the "other" Debian package has been imported as pseudo-upstream source and svn tracked the difference between "upstream" versions. Not sure whether this hack still works, I have not beeing used it for months and changed a lot in the scripts.
