Ah, this is definitely something to consider. The main reason why I have not looked at such approaches is simply because I did not want to invade on doko right now. The zope-common we are preparing is very much scaled down and really only designed to - get zope-common through NEW before sarge - fix #256615 All the other improvements doko has prepared (awesome job, lemme tell you!) are to be fed into experimental for now. Whether they will make sarge is currently unknown (I hope *not* -- we need to do a lot of testing, and making sarge would mean that sarge takes even longer...). Anyway, thanks Marc for the suggestion.
