I'm not aware of such statistics. We have the total number of strings in the new schemes. It was 3423 yesterday evening. See http://www.debian.org/international/l10n/po-debconf/rank Unfortunately, for old-style debconf templates, Denis Barbier (who wrote the scripts which generate several l10n pages) did not include the count of total strings (http://www.debian.org/international/l10n/templates/rank). I've asked him for such count a few days ago...but Denis is currently VAC so this will have to wait until he comes back. I expect to be still much more strings in old-style debconf than in new-style. On the other hand, the majority of key packages has already switched to po-debconf....
