It does not take a big change to break software... e.g., openssh changed a message and the sftp kioslave broke http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51359 I think you are missing the point of "stable", and Debian's users who don't would be more disappointed with just released software in stable than with somewhat out-dated software. Keep in mind that if this experiment works, "testing" will end up being what you wish "stable" was, at least that is how I see it. - Bruce
