I asked coucouf on IRC to have a quick look and he acknowledged that this bug should probably be reassigned to kwin-wayland. So I'm doing that now.
PaulPS on IRC coucouf already pointed out https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501073 which may or may not be related.
