Package: xdelta Version: 1.1.3-10.1 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../xdelta_1.1.3-10.1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking xdelta (1.1.3-10.1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/xdelta_1.1.3-10.1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/xdelta-config', which is also in package libxdelta2-dev 1.1.3-9.3 Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/xdelta_1.1.3-10.1_amd64.deb This is a regression in the recent NMU, could be a side effect of the bumped compat level. You probably don't want to add Breaks+Replaces, but move the file back. The git repository is missing the NMUs -9.[1-4], and the package could be missing the corresponding changes, I haven't checked. cheers, Andreas
