Forwarding to the actual bug report ... Besides that I have no clue how to deal with this issue :-)

The only thing I could find out is that the problem should resolve itself as soon a the ghc compiler version 7.10, which is currently in experimental, makes it to unstable. I looked at the patch to mediawiki2latex and only saw changes in the makefile. I don't understand if and how they can help with the problem. But if its just about the makefile, just send me a makefile that works on any architecture and I will release a new version of mediawiki2latex with the makefile exchanged. Georges could upload it by soon and we could get mediawiki2latex back into testing soon. The problem is that mediawiki2latex 7.20 which is currently in testing does only understand http but not https and thus does not work with wikipedia. But mediawiki2latex 7.21 currently in unstable understands https and thus work with wikipedia.
