So at least one difference between your build and mine is that you use
"make lazbuild" and I use "debian/rule build". That suggests that we
have different LDFLAGS and as such may have found the rootcause. I
haven't had time to check this hypothesis, but it is something to think
about. This still suggests that an binNMU is not going to solve any
problems.
