Thanks for letting me know. Besides the bug severity I'm interested in
having that package l18n-safe so please keep me informed.

For a test: Prefix the comm invocation with "LANG=C" like this is done
a few lines above with "$DPKG_QUERY". This should fix it, let me know
in either way.
