Package: emacsen-common
Version: 2.0.5
Severity: grave

I get this trying to upgrade from 2.0.3 to 2.0.5:

Setting up emacsen-common (2.0.5) ...
Install emacsen-common for emacs23
emacsen-common: Handling install of emacsen flavor emacs23
>>Error occurred processing /etc/emacs23/site-start.d/00debian-vars.el: File

Wrote /usr/share/emacs23/site-lisp/debian-startup.elc

anarcat@angela:~$ ls -l /etc/emacs23/site-start.d/00debian-vars.el
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 jan 23 11:07
/etc/emacs23/site-start.d/00debian-vars.el ->
../../emacs/site-start.d/00debian-vars.el

Fun stuff:

anarcat@angela:~$ ls -ald /etc/emacs*
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 jan 22 19:16 /etc/emacs
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   11 oct  3 10:43 /etc/emacs23 -> /etc/emacs/

So yeah, this is a symlink pointing to itself... Not sure how I managed
that one, but I don't remember messing around with those files. Here are
the recent changes to the emacs* directories according to etckeeper:

It looks like I may have created the 'emacs23' symlink 4 months ago - I
suspect something broke back then and this was the workaround I found.
But it still seems to me this package should recover from such a
configuration...
