I added --verbose to the kernel options but didn´t get any additional information - --debug just shows me the line init: job_process_handler
is verbose already included in upstart 0.6.6-2? I really try to help, but obviously don´t know how. Maybe it´s just not worth the work, cause this is an old version. Upgrade to 1.6.x from the unstable branch solves the problem. Would you be able to boot an affected system with '--verbose' on the commandline and post the console output (screenshots fine)? Otherwise it'll try to find the time to reproduce it here. This is clearly a partial upgrade bug, anyway, and probably needs a versioned Breaks: from sysvinit-utils (or other related package) to upstart. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
