Whoops, you're definitely right. Silly me. And in the previous mail I could even see that the download worked fine from the beginning... So we have another problem, and the error message doesn't help. Could you please post me the output of ls -la /var/cache/debtags/ ? Please also tell me if you have setup a different download directory for APT: Debtags uses the download code from libapt and another ipothesis is that it cannot cope well with nonstandard APT configurations.
