Package: dbus-x11
Version: 1.2.1-2
Severity: grave
File: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/75dbus_dbus-launch

If I have use-session-dbus in /etc/X11/Xsession.options, xdm fails
to start sessions:

+ exec /usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session x-window-manager
XDM authorization key matches an existing client!Error: Couldn't connect to
XServer

If I comment use-session-dbus out, it works.

Following the comments in #292388, this seems more like a Xserver/Xlib issue (and with the request to disable this feature in xdm).

I fail to see why dbus should be at fault here.
It's the only and first time I ever saw this. It's reproducible. And
if I disable dbus like described in the original post, the problem
goes away.

Hi Martin,

an updated version of xdm has been uploaded.
Can you confirm, that with xdm 1:1.1.18-1.1 the problem is solved for you?

As the bug is fixed in xdm according to the XSF, and I got no further negative feedback from you, I'm closing this bug.

Please reopen, if it still persists.

Cheers,
Michael
