Sorry, I do not plan on making this change. Yes, it would limit the frequency of sa-compile runs, but it would not improve efficiency at all and would negatively impact accuracy. sa-compile only runs when sa-update actually pulls down updates. These updates directly impact spamassassin's accuracy, so it's very important that they're applied in a timely manner. I'd be more inclined to run sa-update *more* frequenty rather than *less* frequenty. If your spamassassin host is underpowered, I suggest that you make this change locally. You might also consider off-loading the sa-compile runs to another host altogether, and copying the compiled results back to you spamassassin host. > [*] The bayes is already learning everyday, so it's not critical to > receive updates every day.
