Package: procps Version: 1:3.3.1-1 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/top % top top: incompatible rcfile, you should delete '/home/madduck/.toprc'
I will not, and in some ways I consider this a release critical bug report. I have been working with and developing my ~/.toprc file for many years. Please do not expect me to ditch that work and have to recreate my settings according to some new, vague changed rc file format. When a change like this happens and the previous rc file really cannot be used anymore (why???), then I would at least expect some instructions on a. what actually changed; b. what is no longer supported; c. how to migrate my configuration. Please provide those, either in NEWS.Debian or a dedicated file — and reference that from the error message.
