Package: icedove Version: 8.0~b4-2 Severity: normal After upgrading to Icedove 8 from experimental, I was presented with this dialog: <http://willthompson.co.uk/misc/select-your-addons.png>. It's a list of addons with tickyboxes beside each one, half of which are unticked (indicating that they will be disabled) and labelled as “Installed By: Third Party” (as opposed to “Installed By: You”). All of the unticked add-ons are ones I've installed via apt, rather than by downloading .xpi files directly.
I remember reading on the internet about the latest version of Firefox having a first-run thing that disables crapware toolbars which the user probably didn't intend to install. It looks like this is the same thing, except system-packaged extensions are considered to be installed by a third party (on my single-user laptop).
