My fault. I moved a couple of days back it to a different machine which
was plain lenny without volatile in /etc/apt/sources.lst
It worked initially, so I did not notice the problem.
You can close or merge this one with the existing "clamav disabled
upstream" bug.

Which clamav update would you be referring to? Packages in lenny haven't change
in a while. Given the version of your clamav packages, however, you are almost
surely facing the problem of clamav being disabled anyway via upstream's
signatures. You might want to take a look at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550296
and should switch over to the up-to-date packages provided in the volatile
repository (see http://www.debian.org/volatile/).
