Package: syslinux Version: 2:4.00+dfsg-1 Severity: normal Hi Daniel,
out of curiosity I tried out extlinux today, installed it as my bootloader and must say I was impressed by its straightforwardness. Then I proceeded as suggested in /usr/share/doc/extlinux/README.Debian and downloaded the syslinux- themes-debian-squeeze and memtest86+ packages. However, when I try to start memtets86+ from the boot menu [1], the screen blanks and repeatedly prints new lines with the string "2000". Any idea? Cheers, Fabian [1] As an aside question: Will this menu entry even show up if memtest86+ was not installed? I'd consider this very inconsistent. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (550, 'unstable'), (400, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages syslinux depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii syslinux-common 2:4.00+dfsg-1 Kernel loaders for FAT, ext2/3/4, Versions of packages syslinux recommends: ii dosfstools 3.0.9-1 utilities for making and checking ii mtools 4.0.12-1 Tools for manipulating MSDOS files syslinux suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
