I found a stupid workaround to make these UMTS sticks usable with NM again, until this bug is fixed :) Install the package gcom, plug in the UMTS stick and run gcom -d /dev/ttyUSB0 (or whatever the device name is on your system). gcom will then ask for the PIN. After that procedure one can use the modem as usual with NM. It works for me on all my machines. Happy surfing :) - Fuddl
