Hello,
this left me rather disconcerted:
1. :> /tmp/foo
2. gzip /tmp/foo
3. run mutt
4. 's' to save a message
5. Save to mailbox: /tmp/foo.gz
6. Append messages to /tmp/foo.gz? ([yes]/no): y
7. The message is now marked as deleted, quitting mutt will delete it
8. $ ls -la /tmp/foo.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 enrico enrico 24 2009-08-13 17:32 /tmp/foo.gz
9. The message has not been appended and has now been deleted from the
original mailbox. Message lost. Panic.
After I finish processing an NM applicant, I archive the mailbox. Later
on, I receive occasional messages about the application (such as a
thank you, some trailing chatter with the applicant, or a message saying
that the applicant is now a DD). I've been appending those messages to
the compressed folders. I've lost them all.
