Have this problem on a Compal CL50 based device. Same package versions, kernel 2.6.26-2-686.
Plugging/unplugging the adapter is not detected by kpowersave. Kpowersave always reflect the state during startup. Regarding the tests: lshal | grep ac_adapter In both cases the same: udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_ac_adapter_AC' ac_adapter.present = true (bool) info.capabilities = {'ac_adapter'} (string list) info.category = 'ac_adapter' (string) info.udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_ac_adapter_AC' (string) cat /sys/class/power_supply/AC/online Shows 1 if plugged in, and 0 if not.
