I can confirm that downgrading python-pysqlite2, ie. 

apt-get -t stable install python-pysqlite2=2.4.1-1

fixes the problem. Miro is pretty crippled with this bug, it seems
to be completely unable to save its state. This is a show-stopper. And
apparently now python-pysqlite2 2.5.5 has found its way into testing,
and therefore bites a lot more people, including me.
