Shouldn't the title of that BR be fixed then? > Terminals that claim to be xterm compatible should be fully compatible > (read the gnome report for more information). Agreed in principle. However, has the actual cause of this issue been identified? I.e, in what way exactly are gnome terminal and konsole not compatible with xterm? And does the issue go away if a "correct" TERM setting is used in Gnome? > If you still believe this is an aptitude bug, please name another > Curses application with a similar behaviour (updating text on the > bottom right) that works. What I find very suspicious is that the error *only* ever occurs for "Reading package list" and not for any other status line. For all other status lines the percent sign does get displayed correctly in the bottom right corner. That IMO still makes a (subtle) bug in aptitude rather likely. If it really was purely a terminal incompatibility issue and if aptitude's code really is so simple and the same for all status lines, I'd expect the bug to also manifest for other status lines. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
