I have my USB stick with LUKS encrypted partition and vfat fstype.
If I do as root: mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt,
I'm asked for a password. After entering the correct password, the
partition is mounted without problems.

Pmount should be able to handle LUKS encrypted devices, too.
If i do (as normal user) pmount /dev/sdc1, I'm asked for my password.
However, after entering the correct one, I get the following error:

L082689:~$ pmount /dev/sdc1
Password:
mlockall failed: Cannot allocate memory
WARNING!!! Possibly insecure memory. Are you root?
Command failed: No key available with this passphrase.
