Package: ipmitool
Version: 1.8.9-1
Severity: important

Hi Matthew,

while setting up IPMI monitoring, I noticed that I got 3 temperatures
reported, and then a single one, with disabled features. It turned out
to be that a box was running stable (ipmitool 1.8.8-3) while another was
running unstable (1.8.9-1), and the latter reports less features when
asking for “sdr”:
| -Temp | disabled | ns
| -Temp | disabled | ns
| +Temp | 18 degrees C | ok
| +Temp | 17 degrees C | ok
| Ambient Temp | 15 degrees C | ok
| CMOS Battery | 0x00 | ok
| VCORE | 0x01 | ok

Too bad I'm especially interested in temperatures. :)

Remote machines are Dell PowerEdge SC1435 if that can be of some
interest. I might have a look at the history between both versions to
see what caused this.

I'm leaving that “important” for now, but it should be noted it's a regression
from etch. And people relying on it to report temperatures might get bad
surprises, so it might be bumped at some point.

Cheers,
