1) run gnome-terminal 2) switch to fullscreen mode (F11) 3) switch to another virtual desktop 4) run notify-bin foo No message is being shown. If step 2 is skipped above the message is nicely being displayed. I agree that notifications should be dropped if a windows is in fullscreen mode and we're on the same screen. But they shouldn't be dropped if the user is working on another screen/virtual desktop. Windowmanager is from xfce in case that matters.
