Hi, What I usually do is this; * See if I can reproduce the bug with the current version in unstable (or possible experimental). If so, report this, try to figure out why it happens, and forward the bug upstream. If I find a workaround, I also try to note this to the submitter. * If not, try to find a matching bug upstream, and mark the bug as forwarded. If there's a patch upstream, I usually suggest it for inclusion, or commit it myself if I have time (I try to focus on triaging bugs, not fixing them). I'm not sure I understand "You mailed several bugs which never received a comment to ask if the bug still happens". The "spam" I send out is precisely to ask this, when I can't reproduce it and when I can't find any relevant bugs upstream. Any bugs I close as a result of lack of a response from the submitter should be at least 30 days old, as suggested by Josselin Mouette. If there's any mistake, I will gladly reopen bugs. In the future, I will note in the responses I send out, that I have tried to reproduce/match the bug and also see about tagging them as unreproducible and/or moreinfo. -- Cheers, Sven Arvidsson http://www.whiz.se PGP Key ID 760BDD22
