Hi Arnaud, Does this crash of the server when using xinerama still occurs? Could you try with xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.6.192-1 currently in experimental?
Note that if you want to play with multiple-heads and so, RandR 1.2 is getting strong work in the ATI driver upstream.
