Michael, In case you're interested, the above URL will take you to the bug I reported in the Xerces bug tracking system. Ordinarily I would keep a debian bug that appears upstream open in the debian bug tracking system, but in this case, I don't think it's important to do so since there will likely never be another release of xerces27. (The next xerces release is supposed to be 3.0.)
