If you have a way to reproduce this, could you test with xfdesktop 4.3.99.2 (rc2). It's not available in unstable but I can provide you packages for i386, ppc or sparc64. Upstream is aware of memory leaks in xfdesktop but it's really hard to reproduce (here I can't). See for example: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1910 http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2427 I know this can be really a pain, but the only current solution is to restart xfdesktop from time to time.
