No, sofficerc is a completely wrong place for it. You haven't looked at
sofficerc, have you?

That's broken. That is for using the VCLPLUGIN (gnome, kde, none) not
for the locale...



OK, then how about a /etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf or something similar which the /usr/bin/openoffice (ooo-wrapper) Perl script would interpret at startup?


In case none of these are remotely satisfactory, are there other suggestions in place?
