I think this is a wrong configuration. The link should point to a getty program and GettArgs should be non zero in order to have faxgetty call getty when answering a data call. You have two options: 1. if you do not want the have getty called on data calls, just set a blank value for GettyArgs in /etc/hylafax/config.ttyS? . Then restart hylafax. 2. if you want to receive data calls and have getty handle it, make the getty-link point to a real getty program, such as mgetty or the standard /sbin/getty from util-linux package.
