Sorry, Nicolas François provided us with this file *explicitly* so that you can initialize the po-based translation. I worked with Simon to get the file up to date. Could you please check with Nicolas how he intended the file to be used? It's been some work, and getting a "not usable" afterwards it quite disappointing (not for me, but for the translator who took great length to get a good translation). > Better will be start translate all man pages. Yes, of course. But we are all volunteers, and I don't know if Simon intends to continue on these man pages (there a lots of man pages and other content waiting to be translated). > I'm just commit man/de/de.po to shadow CVS repo using your > de.passwd.1.po. Please check with Nicolas how he produced the file, we (Simon and me) just used the template as provided. The only thing we did, was to convert it once to latin1 and back to utf-8 using recode. > language translated fuzzy untranslated > ----------------------------------------- > de 79 118 562 Once you've checked we can of course unfuzzy, but I really don't see how a completly translated man page can have 562 untranslated strings (and 118 fuzzy). We should first try to find the cause for this gross problem. > Full de.po withj merged your de.passwd.1.po you can download from > http://cvs.pld.org.pl/shadow/man/de/de.po?rev=1.1 Thanks for the pointer. > Remember: during translate all entries from above de.po only > chage(1), chsh(1), groupmod(8), lastlog(8) are ~up-to-date. Often translators will provide you with feedback as well, which you might want to consider. > If you want finish translate only one man page i.e. passwd(1) please > review above po file and update/translate entries with passwd.1.xml > in comments (I using this methodology on work on pl man pages > translations and during work on this I'm pass completely only > chage(1), chsh(1), groupmod(8), lastlog(8)). Sorry, what exactly do you want us to do? I think/understand that translators should only work with the po file, correct? Or do you mean we should give you updates for the english original version? > During review en text of man pages any changes in reference en man pages > must be performed in man/*xml files (not roff files). Yes, work on the source. But this should be (at least from the translators POV) the po file, as the xml version is generated from it, correct?
