You seem to be trying to create a partition on top of a RAID device. As far as I know there is no standard way to do that (except for using LVM over RAID). Instead you should have the partitioner use the whole raid device for a filesystem. Since I'm not clear from your description exactly what you're doing (the use of unclear terms like "RAID partitions" doesn't help), I can't be more specific. -- see shy jo
