And yes, the package needs to switch to the new python policy - haven't looked at that - partly due to real life tasks, partly to the use of cdbs (which only recently seemed reliably supporting the switch). Also I would really want my packaging to be backport'able to sarge, which I suspect a standard switch to the new python policy will break.
