Hi,
This bug is related to bug #355478 discussion but as it raises some problem
with guessnet I open a new one.
Contrary to Mickael (bug #355478) I think network-manager shouldn't conflict
with ifplugd, at least not until it can handle static (non-dhcp)
configurations and various profiles for these configurations.
You made network-manager ignore interfaces defined in /etc/network/interfaces,
that's great. ;-) The problem is that your "detection mechanism" doesn't
handle configurations based on guessnet.
When a wired connexion uses guessnet, it's defined in /e/n/interfaces
by:
mapping eth0
script /usr/sbin/guessnet-ifupdown
map default: default
[...]
iface map1 [...]
iface map2 [...]
iface default [...]
Thus, there's no "iface eth0..." and network-manager takes in charge
this connection. Could you adapt the package to also ignore interfaces
"mapped" by guessnet?
Note that on my computer I added a "iface eth0..." line and now the
network-manager ifplugd/guessnet cooperation works fine.
