Hi, in this bugreport you mention backintime as an example for a package, for which issues in translation files are noted on the tracker page.
The issue there is "gettext: common/po/sr_Latn.po: can't guess language" Did you try, to rename this file (and the "Language:" header into sr@latin? I think it has to be this way. The file names and/or the Language header has to follow some rules, to allow the scripts to know for which language this file is. For example, the iso-codes package has a file named like this in its package, and there is no such issue message for that file. Thus I think that's the correct notification. Of course, looking at the tracker page for iso-codes, you might say that there are issues mentioned as well. In that case that's "source does not specify a priority". And that's indeed correct, there is no Priority field in d/control. So that issue is correctly shown as well. Do you have more examples? My experience is, that there are in fact many problems with translation files in Debian packages, but noone cares.
