Dear Martin-Eric!
I'm not MIA, I've just not actually found the time nor motivation to
continue to work on openntpd, since by these days we are offering a
pretty good alternative to infamous ISC ntpd at ""almost the base
image"", that is systemd's timesyncd, and it's by far more actively
maintained (security, spirit and codebase aside).
In fact, in my mind I was about to RFA openntpd during the summer, and
if nobody showed up requests its removal from the archive. It seems to
me that now is a good time, if you feel like it, to do a handover, since
you appear to be much more motivated than I currently am.
As I mentioned above, I've not had the time to even review your NMUs
(even though I've ACKd previous uploads, but thats unrelated), nor check
your opened bugs at the BTS, but If you feel that you can be up to the
task, go ahead with my blessing, although but I'm afraid I wont be able
to review them in the immediate future, so it would be more a takeover
technically rather than adoption.
Cheers,
\d

The version of OpenNTPD in Debian is hopelessly outdated. Could you please
package the latest upstream and merge pending Merge Requests (Salsa Git) and

Thanks!

Dear MIA team,
My rationale for the ITS is as follow:
1) The maintainer's last upload dates from 2018-08-17.
2) NMUs were performed on 2020-10-28 and 2021-07-29.
3) There are pending patches on the BTS and merge requests on Salsa.
4) The maintainer hasn't acnowledged the NMUs or packaged newer upstreams.
I therefore ITS src:openntpd and take over its maintenance.
Best Regards,
Martin-Éric
