I can confirm this issue on my system as well, a MacBook Pro 9,2. Currently rolled back to 6.12 until this issue is resolved.

It appears Ubuntu has already identified this issue and created a patch: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/broadcom-sta/+bug/2114261
