Hi Julien,

I realised you were responding very promptly to the two open bug reports
but if I interpret your responses correctly you would welcome help about
the Debian packaging since you are rather concentrating to upstream
development.

I've suggested to salvage your package logtop, in accordance with the
Package Salvaging procedure outlined in the Developers Reference[1]. In
case we will not find a volunteer to serve as Uploader for the package
it might be better to rather orphan your package. That's no real
problem for the maintenance - its just "QA maintained" and someone from
the QA team will care for necessary uploads. It just reflects the
status of the Debian packaging properly in the metadata of the package.

I've set up a repository within the salvage-team space[2] to assist you
with the migration to Salsa. IMHO it makes more sense to have the
Debian packaging on Salsa where the vast majority of Debian packages is
maintained. This simplifies the workflow of the (to be found) Uploader
or the QA team. I started with a clone of the debian/sid branch of your
repository. In case we decide to orphan the package it will probably
be moved to debian/ space on Salsa.

Please let me know what might be the best way to ensure the maintenance
of logtop in Debian.

Your package was highlighted in the Bug of the Day[3] initiative, which
aims to introduce newcomers to manageable tasks and guide them through
the workflow to solve them. The focus of this initiative is on migrating
packages to Salsa, as it's a great way to familiarize newcomers with a
consistent Git-based workflow.

If there are remaining questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards
    Andreas.

PS: I do not plan to upload a salvaged / orphaned package before the Trixie
release to not influenze the freeze process.
