Indeed, 2.8.2 includes many fixes for hardware that's been released in the past 5 years, and even master (not yet released as 2.8.3) contains fixes that seem relevant to problems I'm having moving from blazer_usb to nutdrv_qx.
It would be a real pity if we were stuck with 2.8.1 for another 2 years given the freeze in a month. I wasn't able to build from source, but I haven't tried the new instructions. -- Tim Connors
