there's absolutely no need to make such a change: those are the upstream projects names, they dont conflict with anything currently in debian, and they are perfectly valid source package names for the general debian policy and the python policy too. I think this is just busy work with 0 net gain which you can do if you want (of course) but again is not necessarily at all, and given people are waiting on an update, probably that's where effort should be spent.
