I always get very nervous with significant package changes this close to a release. Are you also planning to file an unblock bug or would you like Simon (or me) to take care of that?

It is *extremely unusual* for a package to lose backwards-compatibility across _bugfix versions_! As I recall, upstream notified us of their rather unusual backwards-compatibility policy quite recently and I believe I recommended to Simon to not make a major versioning change like that this close to release. I was also not aware at the time that another package depended on the 1.12.x series of OGRE. So, for the record, I certainly bear a good part of the responsibility for this being an issue so close to release.
