Since Debian 11's "soon", I started upgrading my development machines,
which makes this bug impact me directly.
There's a workaround, e.g., changing
tidy foo.html
to
tidy < foo.html
which requires (for me) a change to a few dozen scripts.
The same problem has been reported more than once, and it seems that
the upstream isn't responsive:
