I don't really know anything about AppDate and if that file requires any changes. So I can't really comment on that, especially the naming of the file. > 2. You can do that or as said change thunderbird to set the WM_CLASS property to uppercase Thunderbird or net.thunderbird.Thunderbird (in the latter case, you don't need StartupWMClass in your desktop file).
