I think it should definitely get fixed since it makes life very hard for
people with AFS $HOMEs. Which program/package is responsible for the bug,
I cannot tell, however. What about trying to bug the gcc people next? =) I
think that would be our best shot.
Personally, I avoided the whole thing by compiling everything on a local
fs instead, but that is just a workaround, which happens to be acceptable
to my specific case. Reassigning seems the best way to proceed anyway.
