Ideally the package should depend on default-jre only, and not on
openjdk-{8,9}-jre. This will avoid updating the R packages for new Java
releases (they will now come every 6 months now, Java 10 is targeted for
March 2018).
If you want to test with OpenJDK 9 as the default JRE you can install
the default-jre package from experimental.
