tags 295046 + woody thanks (Sorry meant to tag this woody originally.)
I've been trying to install 2.6 from sarge, but have been running into some problems. I haven't been able to find PowerPC binary debs of module-init-tools for woody. I've tried taking the source packages from backports.org and recompiling for PowerPC, but they die with the following error: dh_testdir dh_clean -k dh_installdirs bin/ sbin/ etc/modprobe.d/arch/ lib/modules/ dh_install --sourcedir=build-tree/module-init-tools-3.1-pre5/obj -p module-init-tools cp: cannot stat `lsmod': No such file or directory dh_install: command returned error code make: *** [install] Error 1 I was also not able to find PowerPC binary backports of initrd-tools, but the source packages from backports.org appear to have compiled properly on my woody machine. If you could point me to a PowerPC binary backport of module-init-tools I would be happy to install the 2.6.8 kernel from sarge. (However I don't want to upgrade the entire machine to sarge.) ---------------- Thanks Jefferson Cowart [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -----Original Message----- > From: Sven Luther [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2005 01:34 > To: Jefferson Cowart; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: Debian Bug Tracking System > Subject: Re: Bug#295046: kernel-image-2.4.18-newpmac: Network > dies after "/etc/init.d/networking restart" > > tags 295046 + woody > thanks > On Sun, Feb 13, 2005 at 12:46:50AM -0800, Jefferson Cowart wrote: > > Package: kernel-image-2.4.18-newpmac > > Version: 2.4.18-1woody5 > > Severity: critical > > Justification: breaks the whole system > > > > When I run /etc/init.d/networking restart on my system the > network dies. > > It appears to come up properly - the interface is up and > configured, the > > routing tables appear proper, etc - but I can't actually > get anywhere.
