Optional dependencies are still required at compile time. They are just optional at runtime, when tika-parsers is used by another Maven project (which makes sense since the rdeps only use a small subset of the parsers supported by Tika). If there are missing dependencies they have to be added to maven.ignoreRules. Emmanuel Bourg
